How is my privacy assured?
Our response specialists can only access the information that you provide to us. This includes your address, best route to your home, medical response agencies, your list of emergency contacts (family, friends, neighbors, doctors, etc.), and your lock box/hidden key information. All information is kept strictly confidential.
How do emergency personnel get in to my home?
If we need to contact medical personnel, we also contact your family/friends/neighbors on your contact list, who have a key to open your door, so they can meet the medical personnel responding to the call. If those on your contact list cannot be reached or get there in time, we recommend you have a Lock Box (available for purchase from SEND HELP NOW™ or at most hardware stores). Your response specialist will provide the lock box combination to the responding medical personnel so they can get into your house and help you.
What is an average response time?
Average response time is 20-30 seconds. When you sign up for service, you can test your Send Help Now system and see how quickly you receive a response.
What if I can’t speak when I press the help button?
If we are unable to talk to you for any reason, your SEND HELP NOW™ operator specialist will call whoever you have designated as your primary contact(s).
How close to the Console do I need to be when speaking?
The Console is an acoustical computer that has built-in sound capabilities. Usually, in an average home we can speak with you regardless of where you are in the house. However, if you are unable to speak with us because of a heart attack, stroke, or choking, we will immediately dispatch emergency personnel to your house.
Does Send Help Now work outside of my home?
The pendant transmitter has a range of up to 200 feet, so it should work immediately outside of your home. When you receive your alarm system, test it throughout your home and outside (near your home, within the 200-foot range) to see where it is best suited for placement. Keep in mind that in certain locations we may not be able to communicate with you. However, whenever we receive your alarm signal, we will follow your predefined instructions and dispatch help.
What if I accidentally press the help button when there isn’t an emergency?
Don't worry – we understand that sometimes this happens. Just press the Clear button on your Console. Or you can wait for a response specialist to come on the line and tell him/her that you set the system off by mistake.
Will the transmitter break if I drop it?
Your transmitter is very durable and can withstand a normal fall.
How does Send Help Now™ help me if I fall in my bathtub?
The transmitter is waterproof, so you can use it when showering or taking a bath.
How long does the help button battery last?
With normal operation, the long-life lithium battery usually lasts up to four years.
Will Send Help Now™ affect my telephone service?
Send Help Now will not affect your phone service. The system only uses the phone line during an emergency.
I want Send Help Now for my parents who live together – will I pay two monitoring fees?
You only pay one monitoring fee and an additional $4.95/month for the extra help button.
Can my Send Help Now system be moved if I move?
Yes, just call us at 1-505-275-6007 with your new address and phone number. We will send a new agreement with your updated information.
Does this system work anywhere in the United States?
